The Assistant Director demonstrates leadership abilities by creating and maintaining a positive learning environment for all families, staff, and children.
The Assistant Director assists the Director and Owner in operating the center in accordance with DCFS and Goddard School policies, procedures and state licensing standards to provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for children, staff and parents.
This individual is responsible for all school operations and assumes all Director responsibilities and duties in the absence of the Director.
Meets expectations for delivering exceptional customer service to families, children, and staff at the school.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in any field or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred Completed at least one (2) full years of Lead teacher experience working under supervision primarily with preschoolers (ages 6 weeks-8 years) in a licensed child care center.
CPR/First Aid certification is required with 60 days of hire A well-developed philosophy on the education of young children, which parallels with the educational philosophy of The Goddard School.
Demonstrated leadership in the classroom, with parents, and peers Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Suite Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Fulfills all responsibilities for keeping accurate files for staff and children, per DCFS and Goddard standards Conducts tours and answers phones to provide interested families with information about our program Plans and coordinates field trips and summer camp Reviews lesson plans and provide feedback according to Goddard standards Leads and coordinates after school program with teacher coordinator Understands and assists staff members with developmentally appropriate practice in Early Childhood Education Implements and supervises staff members with company policies and procedures Develops staffing placement plan daily Supervises staff and ensures building is secure and running each day Conducts in class audits of safety, curriculum and cleanliness Complies with, and may implement, DCFS and Goddard Systems regulations regarding the care of children Assist teachers with managing behavior problems Order and keep inventory of school supplies Keeps the Director informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children and staff Assists and accepts responsibility in other daily center duties Attends and participates in staff meetings, center events, and parent/customer meetings as requested Benefits -For Full-Time Employees, we offer:
