Guitarist Wanted for Trending Band
Guitarist needed for trending original pop band, Slam Horse. Must be able to play wah-wah pedal style, jazz, reggae, power chords, and some Indian half-tone scales. Must be 18 (21 preferred), possess strong playing ability, have performance experience, strong stage presence, a great stage look, professionalism, and be available to: practice several times per week, gig locally, perform out-of-state at festivals in the near future, and eventually commit to a full tour. This is an absolute requirement. If you cannot commit to out-of-state performances and an extended national/international tour in the immediate future, you will not be considered.Slam Horse is a musical artist, who wrote & performed the new album, Finally Getting Nowhere. Things have snowballed fast. A grassroots movement has generated fans in 35 countries. Slam Horse trended up 1.4 million places & claimed the #1 spot in local pop on the ReverbNation charts in 18 days. Slam Horse has been selected by a national lyric songwriting contest, as well as by a national Rock/Alternative contest. Major advertising will take place over the next month. Slam Horse is already negotiating with major festivals and venues. Must put together the band for the live show fast! The music is organic--guitar, bass, synth, drums--but ends up sounding like electronic dance music. The live show is a complex arrangement of midi-controlling instrumentation. Familiarity with MIDI, Reason 6 software, & Ableton Live a bonus, though not required. You must be comfortable being part of a provocative, sexy stage show that contains suggestive lyrics and antics.Must have reliable transportation and availability. No one living outside of the tri-state area will be considered at this time. Those applicants who are located closest to Plainfield, IL will be given preference over candidates who are farther away (when skill level is the same). Close proximity makes most logistical problems go away. If you have significant commitments or lots of contracted gigs lined up already in the coming months, you may not be considered. Immediate and ongoing availability & commitment to the band is essential.Slam Horse is right on the cusp of breaking big. The musical product is strong & trending very well. Industry experts are predicting it to go viral soon. Significant investments have been made to get the studio album produced, purchase sound and lighting equipment, & advertise the product. There isn't budget right now to pay band members for rehearsals, so all payments will flow through from gigs.We will use local gigs to hone our stage show. Slam Horse himself will NOT take a cut of local gig money; it will be divided up amongst the sidemen. For any unpaid local gigs, sidemen will be compensated directly by Slam Horse at a reduced rate. Festival shows will often be paid by the venue; sidemen will receive a percentage of total payment, after expenses. We may perform at some unpaid festival shows that offer strategic advertising opportunities. In these cases, Slam Horse will cover your food expenses & equipment transportation, & half of your hotel bill. Bandmembers will carpool (with their own reliable vehicle) & split gas money expenses related to their own travel. During a full tour, all of your expenses will be covered, and you will receive standard professional industry compensation.Expecting to be on all major media including iTunes, Amazon, etc. within the week. Website going up this month. You can hear Slam Horse on ReverbNation.com/SlamHorse. Call 630-373-4443 for audition. Auditions and practices will be in Plainfield, IL.
